Grass Valley, the manufacturer of broadcast and production equipment, is hosting a contest giving video editors a chance to win thousands of dollars in production gear. Grass Valley, in association with Zoom In Online, presents “Cut and Win,” in which contestants cut a 60‐second or less commercial spot promoting Grass Valley’s nonlinear editing program, EDIUS.

The style and message of the commercial is open to interpretation – the only requirements are that the cut is a promotion for EDIUS software, and that the commercial uses HUMOR to convey its message. Submissions will be judged on the basis of CREATIVITY and AESTHETICS, and humorous entries will receive special recognition and be weighted more heavily for winning consideration. Otherwise, entrants should take creative license and produce a commercial that touts the software’s features in an entertaining fashion.

Entries will be accepted until DECEMBER 9, 2009 and it’s open to residents of most countries.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a full production and post‐production kit including:

* HP ProBook Laptop Loaded with EDIUS Nonlinear Editing Software
* Panasonic HDC‐HS250K Video Camera
* LaCie d2 Quadra External Drive (1 TB)

To enter the contest, visit Grass Valley. And visit the web site for more information about EDIUS.
