What good film schools are there in Australia?

A large number of institutions offering courses in filmmaking exist in Australia, however there are two main schools with world-class reputations: The Australian Film, Television, and Radio School (AFTRS) in Sydney, and the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in Melbourne. Entrance to AFTRS is only available to Australian residents or foreign students on official exchange programs; the VCA courses are available to all. Places at both institutions are highly competitive, and prospective AFTRS students must normally be over 22 years of age and have a previous degree (or equivalent industry experience).
