A location manager is the person who is responsible for a wide range of tasks when a film crew is shooting on location. On small projects, the Production Manager or even the Producer would take this role, but on large films, a good location manager is an essential member of the team.
Location Managers do things like arrange access to buildings, sort out parking facilities, supervise the deployment of the crew equipment and generally liaise with the location owner to ensure that the location is fully usable by the crew and is not destroyed during the filming process.
