Complete lack of facilities, terrible equipment and many of the lecturers are former English teachers brought in to teach the syllabus. Don't make my mistake and don't bother! Go to Northumbria uni instead, you actually get to use film!

Sunderland with its new St. Peters campus has some of the most up-to-date equipment avalible, with professionals teaching from the industry. Most importantly it has a friendly atmosphere. The only downside is that the equipment is in quite high demand.

I feel they got good equipments and their teachings are fine too ... but they lack good experenced tutors thats the only problem apart from that its a fine place to study.

"The university has up-to-date resources and equipment and facilities at students disposal. St.Peter's media centre is very nice and a nice place to study. The only major disappointment is the editing software they use, liquid, they could have used something better, i.e. AVID, adobe, FCP, etc. Also, lecturers marking was abit skeptical at times. For example, i had one very very poor short film that received 52%, whilst a final year documentary project that obvious had alot of work been put into and was at a higher standard than the short film receiving 57%. The actual city and the student union is depressing and poor. Many of my friends, and including myself, go away saying, it was a good university, made good friends, developed some skills, have something to show for it, but will never come back to such an awful, terrible city. Newcastle uni has a similar course, but sunderland is a better media university, but newcastle is a much better city to live in."
