Experienced professors provide a quality education. Limited/small classes harbour intense competition. Modern equipment is readily available, yet hands on work does not begin until extensive preliminary courses are complete (semester 3-4). It's worth the effort for those truly serious about filmmaking.

UM is where I started studying film. They have fantastic professors and a curriculum that provides a balanced mixture of theory and practice. I hated leaving UM ... and I haven't found a better film program since ... but the city of Miami didn't have the vibrant film community that I craved ... so, of course, I moved to New York ... I'm such a cliche! ;o)
