I am currently attending trebas in montreal under the film program. Like you, i went to sites looking for reviews. And for most film schools, people were about 50/50. with trebas it was more like 95% were bad and 5% good. if you are serious about getting into film. (and i mean your the person who wants to be there, and is committed to be on time to learn, and prepared) i suggest you go to a well known film school with a good reputation or university with a good film program. (your paying 16 grand for gods sake!). Its not horrible, but for 16 grand for 15 months they only teach you the basics within each subject, while only providing just the gist of each concept and don’t go into very much detail. Also another major problem is a lot of their software and equipment is totally outdated; like some are fucking antiques... there is also a total shortage of equipment. and i mean like there are over twenty people in a class. and only three cameras to go around. classes are divided into smaller groups but it still ends up being like 3 people to a camera. Even for sound and television, during the practical there are so many people it is really tough to get a full grasp on how the equipment works, especially if you only get like 2 seconds to use it (and i'm not joking.. you get to push a button or 2). Most teachers and administration are nice. they have all worked in the industry, how successful they were i cant say... i guess you can see just how successful they were in the industry seeing that they're teachers and not working in the industry. Most teachers talk way to much in things that aren’t even relevant to the subject. Some take up about an hour or more. Also, The teachers arent teachers. Meaning they just have worked in the industry and applied for a teaching job. Some are organized others just teach in any particular order jumping from here to there. Also just to note, this film school focuses primarily on film and television networking. Not things like commercials or music videos or sitcoms etc.. like i said. If your looking to be successful in the film industry and this is what you want to do with your life. Take your money and go to a place with good credentials. University is obviously a lot cheaper but will take longer, but well known schools will have decent equipment and a good number of stuff for everyone. In addition into going into more detail on each subject. Other film schools are can be more expansive, but if they have good reputation then they will give you good credentials (and they are well known for a reason.). For a film school trebas can give you your moneys worth depending on how you look at it (That being said its cheap for a film school.) if you want to get a basic knowledge of the industry. Thats what trebas will give you and really nothing more. You will not get anywhere with just a trebas diploma if you are new to film. Id give it 2/5. Also this review has nothing to do with the audio programs. I really dont know anything about that.. sorry.

the teachers just tell you what to do but dont go in very much (or none) detail about the subject. and then they expect you to do it and know your stuff. wtf. dont go to this school it's shit. u will waste your money and time like everyone else who signed up to this shitty school. shitty teachers. shitty equipment. shitty smelling bathrooms, and its for shitty students who arent serious about going into film but want to waste money. Im one of the few who actually show up on time, and am ready to learn. and they give me a shitty education from teachers that dont even have a teaching degree. do urself a favor. dont go to this school.
