San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking

I just completed a four week course at the San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking (SFSDF) It is a brand new school that is completely hands on. Within the 4 weeks we learned about compostion, lighting, audio,  scriptwriting, casting, directing and editing. During this time we wrote a 4 min screenplay, casted for actors, and then had a day to shoot the film and the rest of the weeke to learn Final Cut Pro and edit the film. I directed my own film, worked camera on another students film, did lighting on another and then audio on another. We shot the films with Sony HDV cameras and the quality is amazing. We edited using G5 powermacs and FCP. This class was excellent and I am thinking of taking the year long class. The teachers have been in the business for a long time and have said that high definition video has come down in price that it has allowed them to open the school that they wish existed when they were in school. I do not believe that there is another school out there that is this much hands on approach with updated equipment. I had a blast and learned a ton! Check em out.
