Taking into consideration the impact of Covid, most if not all of the knowledge I've accumulated in regards to filmmaking has been acquired on my own or with the help of others outside of Quinnipiac. The school seems far more focused on broadcast journalism than investing in the filmmaking program. While the equipment the School of Communications offers is admittedly impressive, the classes you'll take will give you very little hands-on experience on how to use them. Most of the students studying film are in it for an easy A, not because they're passionate storytellers or aspiring artists. The professors know this and as a result, the classes are tailor-made to be easy, predictable, and unengaging. If you are into journalism or advertising the film program here certainly has a lot to offer but if you're looking to realize your true creative visions and become a professional filmmaker stay away from this school. I'm currently working at Disney on an upcoming Disney+ series. I received this job with no help from my professors or advisors and have not had to apply any of the limited knowledge I've accumulated at Quinnipiac during my employment here.
