Students get much hands on training. Students are encouraged to make lots of films. Two film festivals a quarter, that's eight a year.

Saddly enough this was a waste of time and effort. The instructor has no film making experience, the only basis for this class is the knowledge you get on final cut pro. The Instructor has his degrees in speech and theatre, not film. By my second film I had already excelled past the abilities of the instructor. Passing this class is easy for anyone, but a waste of time and money for those who wish to take film to a career level.

I had a very good experience in the film program a Pierce College. The best part of the class was a project called, "copy the pros". In this project film makers from the Film Making class were paired with actors from the Acting for Stage and Film class to copy a scene from a notable movie. From the cuts to the angles, to the acting style, the goals was to copy the pros. At the end we compared our scenes to the professional scenes. The results were striking. In the Pierce College film program the actors support the film makers and the film makers support the actors.
