Emerson College

This school gives hands on experience from the get go. You can join clubs, activities and classes in your major your first semester. With connections to Hollywood, England and other places across the globe, Emerson gives you a ecclectic experience. The film school works intimately with the other departments to give you a well rounded course selection. You can take make-up and lighting design from the theater department. Sign language from the speech department, and film classes from the film department all in the same semester. I know-I did! Many students graduate and go on to be famous producers, directors, actors, and technical personnel. (Great contacts later....) They have their own theater right in the heart of the theater district in Boston, as well as their own radio station that broadcasts beyond their walls. If you are serious about communication education-check this one out!

Everything is at your fingertips, and you will truly get out of it what you put into it. The most up-to-date equipment, excellent study-abroad programs, and amazing real-world exeperince-I had a Hollywood job before I even graduated, while my NYU friends were still maxing out credit cards. Pricey, but very worth it.
