The Waterford Film Festival is delighted to announce that two additional days this year: 5th to the 9th of November.
After a very successful 1st year, The Waterford Film Festival is back. Last year we screened local, national and international films. Our mission for this year is to do the same, to promote the art of film from local, national and international filmmakers.
We plan to screen a wide range of films, from feature films and documentaries, to short films and animation.
In particular we support the short film as short films are an art form in their own right and are the stepping-stone for filmmakers to enter the industry. The festival also supports independent filmmakers, who by hard work and dedication found the means and resources to get their films made.
The medium of film is crucial to the way we as a society understand life and the world. It challenges us to think outside the box and live outside the fishbowl.
Filmmakers, writers, director, actors attend the festival from many different backgrounds and cultures to present their work for all to enjoy. The audience is made up of filmmakers, students and film buffs. The festival is not just for filmmakers but for film lovers.
