The 2010 University of Toronto Film Festival unspools on March 13th on multiple screens in multiple rooms throughout Hart House in what promises to be a full-day film carnival extravaganza.
The festival will reprise many of its backbone programs: an open call seeking the best students shorts from every corner of the campus, and of the country; the Hart House Film Board Gala, a juried screening of the best from Hart House’s historic student production club; the Super 8 Circus, short super 8 films projected to live musical accompaniment and; everybodys favourite, the Shitty Film Contest, a selection of the shittiest films competing for shitty prizes.
This year the festival will spotlight social justice issues with a special eye to social entrepreneurialism – practical solutions to social problems – and the festival actively seeks films and campus/city-partners who want to help shine light on neglected social justice issues and solutions.
