The Gregg Jackson Film festival is done each June to honor the life of Gregg Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a community activist in Brownsville Brooklyn, NY. After his untimely death in 2011 the community began to produce film festivals, which promotes films exploring topics related to social justice, community empowerment, politics, and cultural expression. Event takes place over a two-day period. Submission should be received before 5/31/2014. Submit online (niaproduction@aol.com) or DVD to Nia Production Company 138 South oxford St Brooklyn, NY 11217. The festival is sponsored by New york City Council. Best film receives award from New york City Council.
