We are happy to inform you that the 5th SKIP CITY INTERNATIONAL D-Cinema FESTIVAL 2008 will be held from July 19 (Sat.) to July 27 (Sun.) in 2008 at SKIP City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
The SKIP CITY INTERNATIONAL D-Cinema FESTIVAL is designed to discover and reward the nextÂ@generation of digital filmmakers, which is being held annually with its theme being Digital Cinema (D-Cinema). It has feature (International) and short (Domestic) length competition sections focusing on digital works which were shot and edited digitally and can be screened in a digital format. All the movies will be presented using the latest 4K digital cinema projector, projected on a huge screen. The total cash award will be up to $150,000.
We have gladly accepted 761 entries from 69 countries and regions in the 2007 festival and became the only one Japanese film festival selected for the Âg50 UNMISSABLE FESTSÂh by Variety in 2007 Sep.

In past, Lone Sherfig (2004), Miranda July / Susanne Bier (2005), Lu Xuechang (2006) , Nuri Bilge Ceylan (2007) won the USD87,000 Grand Prizes and screened their works by 4K projector.
