Siemens and the St Kilda Film Festival are offering Australian filmmakers the chance to win $5,000 in the Siemens Micro Movie Award!
The Siemens Micro Movie Award is an international competition for short films made using mobile phones. This award was first presented at interfilm Berlin in November, 2004. This year, thanks to Siemens & The St Kilda Film Festival Australian filmmakers are invited to take part in this competition for the first time.
OPENChannel can help interested filmmakers get their hands on a Siemens mobile phone to create their micro movie masterpiece and win the $5,000 prize.
OPENChannel has a number of Siemens mobile phones (SX1 models) available for FREE hire to filmmakers keen to produce an entry to the Micro Movie Award. Our experienced staff can also offer technical and production advice to entrants.
Film entries must be no longer than 90 seconds and you can produce and enter as many films as you like before the deadline of March 18th, 2005.
Ten finalists will be selected from all entries and their films will be shown on screens in cinema foyers during the St Kilda Film Festival. The winner will be selected by the audience and awarded $5,000. All finalists will receive a Siemens video phone and will participate in a film workshop during the St Kilda Film Festival.
