Aims
Scenecs is an annual international film festival for new film makers and aims at giving future professionals the room needed for the further development of their film careers. During the festival film talent, film culture and the film production climate is stimulated and supported by the organization. This being achieved through showings, educational activities, debates and network activities.
Competition
The productions can compete in the SCENECS competition for the debut film in the categories:: fiction, documentary and student film. An independent jury will nominate the best films to be considered for “The Dutch Golden Stone”, the official SCENECS Award.
Network facilities
SCENECS emphasises itself as network facility for, among other things, new directors and producers and for directors and producers who have already proven themselves. Therefore, apart from the competition, there is also room for the showing of films. Established filmmakers can, by showing their productions, introduce a creative process and fruitful discussion with newcomers profiting both parties.
Education
Via various workshops and lectures during the festival, visitors ca broaden their knowledge of the cinema. Established actors and filmmakers give lectures about their experiences and advise young talent in the film industry.
