The Portland International Short Short Film Festival, or PISS Fest! is a locally based but internationally recognized annual showcase for some of the best independent short films from around the world. Starting in 2002 as an elixir to the ADD-addled cinephile, local filmmaker Tony Fuentes’ brainchild, PISS Fest! has enjoyed the attention of ever-growing audiences and filmmakers alike. Films often run the gamut of themes and styles—from the dark and avant-garde to the hilariously absurd—with sometimes the only common thread among them being running time: ten minutes or less. PISS Fest! runs three days in October, at Portland’s historic Hollywood Theater.
