Description

From May 22nd to May 23rd 2009 the shortfilm festival “Political Shortcuts” will take place in Koblenz/Germany.

It is in our interest to give an overview about current political issues and to encourage the discussion about those. We also want to give an opportunity for films, which would hardly have a chance to be shown in regular cinema.

This year our focus is on the issue “racism”. It means that those shortfilms who will be sent to us should show some of the different meanings and characteristics of this issue. But it could also be a matter of a film to show counter strategies against racial structures.
Racism has many faces and can be found in many different aspects of our society. We think that it is very important to make this matter of fact clear to see and that the shortfilm presents itself as an effective tool to communicate this.

You can submit your films in the categories: fiction and documentation, with the subject “racism”.
Registration deadline is November 17th, 2008.
There are three prizes in each category:

1. prize: 450€
2. prize 200€
3. prize 100€

We are looking forward to your films.

There will be held a lot of concomitant activities and events during the “political shortcuts”Â festival like readings, lectures and two concerts. More information about all this and all our other activities can be found soon on our homepage
