OPTRONICA // 20 – 24 July / National Film Theatre, London
A hybrid of film festival and music festival, Optronica is a brand new five day event focusing on the convergence of visuals and music and featuring live audiovisual performances, cinema screenings, dj:vj sets and talks. Organised by Addictive TV in collaboration with the NFT, Optronica takes place on July 20-24, 2005 at the NFT and at the bfi London IMAX Cinema – the biggest screen in Britain.
Headline performances at the IMAX are ex-Kraftwerk star Karl Bartos’s stunning live AV show, the World premiere of Warp act Plaid & Bob Jaroc’s Greedy Baby AV show and the UK premiere of DJ Spooky’s solo film remix Rebirth of a Nation. Other artists include Addictive TV playing on the roof of the National Theatre, Skoltz_Kolgen, Masakatsu Takagi, People Like Us plus DJs Joakim, Si Begg, Legowelt and a whole pool of international VJs.
