The New York Television Festival, the industry’s first recognized independent television festival, was founded in 2005 to provide producers, writers, directors, and filmmakers the unique opportunity to showcase independently produced TV pilots directly to the decision-makers of the industry.
Since then, the Festival has featured acclaimed pilots that were purchased by NBC Universal, A&E, and Versus, and that landed many producers and creators in meetings with major networks and production companies. The NYTVF offers the next generation of storytellers unprecedented access to development executives and producers looking for the next hit show. All you need is an idea and a video camera.
The NYTVF Independent Pilot Competition 2010:
The NYTVF accepts original television pilots from 4 to 22 minutes in length in all categories and genres, both scripted and unscripted, live-action and animated.
The 2010 festival will be held September 20th through the 25th in NYC.
All 2010 Official Selections will be eligible to win the $25k NYTVF “Out of the Box Award”, sponsored by IFC TV. ________________________________________________________
About the NYTVF:
Along with the Independent Pilot Competition, The NYTVF hosts a variety of script contests throughout the year, and the annual Festival in September presents free screenings, production workshops, panels, red-carpet premieres, and other special events designed to honor television as an institution and as an art form.
Held annually each fall in New York City, the Festival unites artists, executives, industry figures, and fans together in one forum to celebrate the medium and to help shape its future.
