ABOUT THE EVENT…
Located just 50 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Napa Sonoma Wine
Country Film Festival is an exciting, rich and intimate festival highlighting the very best in new films, both independent and international.
There are eight sections: U.S. Independent, World Cinema, Arts in Film, Music in Film, CineLatino, Cinema of Conscience (humanity and social issues), “Paseo de España†showcase of Regional Spanish Cinema and EcoCinema, with programs of features, documentaries, and shorts.
Share your passion and unique vision. At the Napa Sonoma Wine Country Film Festival your film will be received by an enthusiastic public, and you’ll be given the chance to mix with fellow filmmakers and industry luminaries in a lush and unusual setting. You can also participate in Master Classes that are lively and informative. Special events highlight the Festival experience.
Films are screened in local theaters and at Gala “Films al Frescoâ„¢” shows outdoors under the stars in spectacular wine country settings.
Past attending honorees & filmmakers include Phillp Kaufman, Jonathan Demme, Kirk Douglas, George Lucas, Richard Dreyfuss, Gregory Peck, Harry Shearer, Nicolas Cage, Vin Diesel, Richard Shepard, Dennis Hopper, Martin Landau, Anthony Quinn and many more.
COMPETITIONS and AWARDS:
There’s an Emerging Filmmaker Award with $3,000 in cash and software packages as well as the coveted David L. Wolper Award for Best Documentary, Best First Feature, Best International Feature, the Jack London Screenwriter Award, the Digital Arts Film Awards for Best Films shot in Digital Formats, and others.
