Description

London Iranian Film Festival is the only annual festival to present Iranian cinema in the UK. The festival aims to produce the best, and most diverse, Iranian film programme in the country, and to attract as many people as possible to view Iranian cinema.

London Iranian Film Festival is brought to you by UKIFF – a volunteer-run, non-political organization aiming to provide a cultural platform for a celebration of Iranian cinema in the UK. UKIFF have created many opportunities for emerging and established filmmakers to exhibit their work representing Iranian culture. In addition, we introduce Iranian cinema to new audiences, stimulating cultural diversity and fulfilling both an entertainment and educational function.

On November 18th, 2011, the 2nd London Iranian Film Festival will have its Opening Night at a prestigious London venue, attended by a wide array of industry members. Live entertainment will include traditional music followed by film screenings to introduce new audiences to Iranian culture.

For the remainder of the festival, there will be activities and special events to compliment the screenings throughout London. These will include Q&A sessions, networking events, exhibitions, as well as the latest films from Iran. The Closing Night, on November 26th, will see prizes being awarded to the best films in four categories – feature film, documentary, short film and animation.

Regardless of who you are, where you come from and what you do, this is a cultural event where you can enjoy and exchange opinions. London Iranian Film Festival provides a chance to experience, enjoy, learn and discover!
