London Film Academy and Algarve Film Commission are hosting a summer school in Portugal, and a masterclass led by director/editor/writer Julian Doyle (‘Monty Python’s Life of Brian’, ‘Time Bandits’, ‘Brazil’) offers a taste of what’s in store.

Julian Doyle talks about his work on some of the most influential films of all time. He has written, directed, photographed, edited and created special effects to the highest standard for a range of feature films, most famously editing ‘Monty Python’s Life of Brian’. He has also won awards for the music videos ‘Cloudbusting’ by Kate Bush and ‘Can I Play with Madness’ by Iron Maiden. Julian is one of the practising professionals who teach at LFA. He will also cover:

* The Language of Film – the difference between literature, music and film and the grammar of filmmaking
* Making Movies – an introduction to filmmaking for amateurs to become potential professionals
