Dear Filmmaker!
It is with utmost pleasure that we invite you to take part in the forthcoming 13th edition of Amateur and Independent Film Festival KAN, scheduled for April/May 2012. For the thirteenth edition, we have revised the Festival Programme.
The Festival is now made up from two Competitions:
The Amateur and Independent Film Competition and the School Film Competition.
The Amateur and Independent Film Competition (divided into two categories: Amateur Film and Independent Film), is open for films that: a) were produced outside of the professional system of distribution, without the support and supervision of a professional producer and production team, and the profit from which is made solely by their authors; and b) are purely an artistic expression, produced for artistic and not commercial purpose, and without any significant financial support. The Competition is international. The awards:
GRAND PRIX of KAN Festival – Platinum KANewka
Gold KANewka for the best Amateur Film
Gold KANewka for the best Independent Film
Jury’s Special KANewka
The School Film Competition is open for films produced or co-produced by a film school (public or private), which supported the director during the production. The Competition is international. The awards:
GRAND Prix Film School Competition – Academic KANewka
Jury’s Special KANewka
Additionally, two awards disregarding division into Competitions:
Audience’s KANewka
Journalist’s KANewka
