The Independent Film Festival of Boston is a four-day international film festival that hosts over 15,000 attendees and shows 50-60 films, has various panel discussions and nightly parties. The festival screens narrative features, documentary features, short films, experimental films, and animation. Screening venues are in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and Brookline. Named “the premier film festival in Boston” by Chris Gore’s Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide (3rd Edition) and voted as the best film festival in Boston by the Boston Society of Film Critics. Past attendees include John Waters, Illeana Douglas, Bob Odenkirk, Bill Pullman, Noam Chomsky, Dylan Baker, Robert Vaughn, and Michael Almereyda. 9 award prizes are given out each year and hotel and travel are covered for most feature filmmakers.
