The city of Siena will hold, during the 11th International Short-Film Festival, the competition for short-films titled « Generazioni in Movimento » ( generations in change) . The biannual exhibition represents one of the most important meetings, both for the aspiring directors and for the theme; strictly linked to the diffusion of a culture which promotes the relationships between young and old, through the observation of generational behaviours.

The 4th biannual edition of the Short-Films competition titled “Generazioni in Movimentiâ€ has been launched

Rules and regulations

1. Participation in the competition is open to all, regardless of age or origin. Special attention will be paid to youth creativity, elderly creativity, and all schools and universities.

2. Short-Films should run for no longer than 15’(excluding credits) and should only be in video format.

3. The theme general of the competition is “the relationships between the new generations of women and men, young and oldâ€, but can be developed and modified taking the ideas of the director into account.

4. The title for 2006 is “NEW FORMS OF SLAVERY AND PRACTICIES OF FREEDOMâ€.

5. Only finished products will be accepted, included with the application form indicating the titles, the author, and eventual co-authors.

6. The curriculum of the author and a brief synopsis of the work must be sent along with the application form.

7. The works can be filmed in any language and must be sent in VHS format to the production committee who will verify that points 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 have been observed.

8. Each entrant may submit only one film, which does not necessarily have to be a new production, but must not have been released before 2003.

9. The authors will be responsible for any legal action taken by the SIAE against their works and also must pay the relative costs for the rights of the music used.

10. The organisation will not be held responsible for any disputes born out of not respecting point 9.

11. All works must be entered by the September 30 and there is no quota on the permitted number of entries.

12. All entries must be sent with a “recommended letterâ€, to the secretary of the competition, whose address is Centro Culturale Contemporanee “Corte dei Miracoliâ€ via Roma 56 ex Ospedale Psichiatrico S.Niccolo Siena 53100.

13. A jury consisting of professionals will examine the competing entries, the best of which will be valued and selected according to the continuity of the subtitle and general theme as seen in the works.

14. The entries which have been selected as finalists by the jury will be screened publicly on the day of the awards ceremony which will take place in November 2006.

15. The finalists chosen by the jury, whose works will be screened, will be invited to the awards ceremony as guests of the competition organisation “Generazioni in Movimentoâ€.
