Description

The Film Festival della Lessinia is an international competition dedicated to mountain life, history, and traditions. The Film Festival welcomes the submission of all films (feature-length and shorts) and documentaries that address these themes, in particular those that focus on the minority cultures and languages present in mountain areas. By statute, films about mountain sports and Alpinism are excluded from consideration. The 15th edition of the Film Festival della Lessinia (2009) will be held in Bosco Chiesanuova, in the Lessinia mountains near Verona. The nine-day program will include film screenings, appointments with the directors, literary presentations, conferences, exhibitions and other collateral activities. In addition to the film competition, the 2009 edition will include a retrospective dedicated to a European television station, a tribute to a director of international reputation, a campus and workshop for students, and a conference about documentary films. With its 15th edition, the Film Festival della Lessinia expects to draw more than 4.500 viewers.
