The FFF tends to seek, discover and promote new authors of contemporary and both Italian and international independent cinema. The Festival aims to be a showcase for those who are already well-known in the film industry as well as a great launching pad for emerging directors, screenwriters, actors and actresses.

– Can participate in the festival films from any country, of any kind.

– A special section will be dedicated to Sardinian movies: This section will include works by Sardinian authors or works that simply telling the Sardinia from every aspect: environmental, historical, cultural, customs, social, etc..

The Festival Executive Direction reserves the right to establish new branches in or out those competitions that are already scheduled.

PLACES AND DATES

The 2013 edition of FIGARI FILM FEST will take place in the month of July in Golfo Aranci (OT). Dates and locations will be announced on the website of the Council and of Diero.

All films submitted will be viewed and selected by an international jury that then will decide the finalists. The short films which will be selected for the competition will be screened during one of the evening in the presence of a jury that will express its preference on the works submitted. During the final evening gala, the nominees for each category will be announced and the winners will be awarded.

JUDGING AND PRIZES

The Artistic Director of the Festival will appoint a jury, made of special guests, from film industry and journalism, that will judge the submitted works. According to different sections, cash prizes and plaques will be awarded. Terms and conditions of awarding prizes will be announced during the press conference and made available online

REGISTRATION

The competition can admit national and international works produced after January 1st 2011, and concerning “Made in Sardiniaâ€, works produced after January 1st 2008. Works can be created with any video support. The length of each short film (including opening titles and end credits) must not exceed 20 minutes. Are not allowed tolerances, will therefore be discarded beforehand works that exceed this duration. Foreign works must be subtitled in English or Italian, and Italian works must be subtitled in English. For works in dialect you will have to provide a copy subtitled in Italian and one in English. THIS REQUIREMENT IS COMPULSORY. Are also excluded from the competition productions which will contain pornographic and / or offensive material. Are also eligible not unpublished work. Each author may submit an unlimited number of works but just one will be admit to the competition, if conform to this Regulation (the committee may decide to screen a second work of the same author, but it will not be entered into the competition).

To apply we suggest to join the platform MOVIBETA that will allow you to register directly on-line. For the first selection each author will have also to send the ENTRYFORM completely filled and signed to festival@diero.it and make his work available to the organizers (with the requirements listed above) on a web platform of choice (vimeo, youtube, etc. …), even private, providing us with link and password.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING THE REQUESTED MATERIAL IS THE 20TH OF APRIL 2013.

REGISTRATION IS TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE

In a second step, only to the authors allowed in the final, will be required to send at least n. 2 film frames in electronic format (.Jpg or other format), no. 1 picture of the director in electronic format (.Jpg or other format), no. 1 release form of free use of the work submitted (in relation to the director, the script and music), relative to the event in question, a trailer and the work in high-definition for projection.

SELECTED FILMS

The list of accepted short films will be published exclusively on the website www.diero.it in the section FIGARI FILM FEST and social networks related. There is the possibility that works admitted or not will be projected in a preselection night. The schedule will be announced in advance. During the final evening gala is a requirement the presence of at least one representative for each work which has been nominated, otherwise it will not be awarded. With regard to foreign authors, the organization will strive to do everything in his power to facilitate their presence.

GENERAL RULES

The submission of works involves the total and unconditional acceptance of the Regulation of FIGARI FILM FEST. The submission of works, also involves the non-exclusive permission to the organizers of the Festival to spread and make available to the public – through its website and by any means or any other known form – the sequences of the works presented (not more than 15% for each individual work), without giving any compensation to the authors. The submission of photographs and/or informative material such as stills, photos, bio, filmography, film synopsis, statement, posters and so forth, implies also a non exclusive license to the Festival organizers to spread and make available to the public the material above mentioned. Assessments on the admission of short films and awards are unquestionable. The organization of the Festival is not responsible for any theft or damage to the works. Attending the Festival implies having read and therefore implicitly approved the terms and conditions of processing of personal data in the documents signed. The organizers of the Festival are the sole holders of the personal data collected and they will only use them for planning activities which are strictly related to the organization of the event itself. The Direction of the Festival will be able to take decisions on matters that this official regulation does not cover.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

During the Festival, events and side activities will be organized: retrospectives, books, exhibitions, meetings with actors, directors and journalists, courses in film / photography, acting classes / diction courses in directing, screenwriting and creative writing, concerts, thematic seminars, workshops, guided tours in the beautiful area of Golfo Aranci and so forth.

HOME

The organization is committed to ensuring a FREE ferry trip for all directors finalists and a companion (excluding taxes), also is committed to providing hotel accommodation at advantageous conditions in order to facilitate the presence at the festival.

Travel arrangements and fares will be announced after the first selection of the works.
