Brazil’s biggest city and cultural center, São Paulo get his fantastic film festival back after five years paused. The 7th edition of Cinefantasy will be running from September 6 to 11.
The festival has competitive programs for shorts and features of fantasy, science fiction and horror, beyond this, the event has thematic sessions, film premieres, book releases, meetings with special guests, music shows, lectures, workshops, parties and much more.
This year edition will take place at MIS – Museu de Imagem e Som de São Paulo. The museum is one of the most important places for entertainment and cultural events like David Bowie and Tim Burton’s exhibitions.
Cinefantasy is a showcase for São Paulo public that is known for delivering the best and most one of kind from Brazilian and foreign fantastic movie production. The last edition screened more than 130 titles for more than seven thousand of people.
There are 28 awards for features and shorts, among categories are the best fantasy, horror, sci-fi, animation, direction, VFX, and funny categories such as best creature, villain and victim.
Cinefantasy also has the Master of the Scream Contest for very scary shorts with no more than 5 minutes long.
Submissions for 7th Cinefantasy are free and can be made on the festival website until April 30.
