CELEBRATING THE BOLD SPIRIT OF INDEPENDENT FILM
4 days of controversy, spice, color, laughter, outrage, adventure, ideas, culture and community
THE BOULDER INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, sponsored by the nonprofit Colorado Film Society, is held annually on President’s Day Weekend in Boulder, Colorado, USA, and has developed a reputation as one of the most influential young film festivals in the U.S., with an extraordinary number of new-but-unknown feature films, documentaries and shorts that have gone on from early screenings at BIFF to significant box-office success and multiple Oscar nominations. Over 16,000 filmmakers, national media, special guests and film enthusiasts attended the four-day BIFF 2010.
BIFF has been proud to host and celebrate some of film’s most talented artists, including Oscar-nominated Alec Baldwin (three weeks before he hosted the Academy Awards) Oscar nominated James Franco (again just prior to his hosting the academy awards), Oliver Stone Blythe Danner , legendary comedian Chevy Chase, and writer/filmmaker Chris Gore (The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide), along with many other independent filmmakers, directors, producers and stars including directors Michael and Mark Polish, Golden Globe nominated actress Maria Bello, writer John August, and Academy-Award nominee Eric Roberts, and Patrick Warburton [Seinfeld]).
The 8th Annual Boulder International Film Festival is February 16th-19th 2012
