The Atlanta Film Festival is produced annually by IMAGE Film & Video Center. IMAGE (Independent Media Artists of Georgia, Etc.) was founded in 1977 and today is one of the most respected not-for-profit media arts centers in the country. IMAGE’s mission is to build and support a strong media arts community in Atlanta and the Southeast by promoting the production, exhibition, and public awareness of film and video and unique forms of artistic expression. In addition to presenting the Atlanta Film Festival, IMAGE also produces Out on Film, Atlanta’s Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, and offers screenings, workshops, monthly meetings, fiscal sponsorships, screenplay critiquing services, outreach programs, and equipment access.
