The AFCI Locations Trade Show 2006 comes to the Santa Monica Civic the weekend of Friday, April 7 to Sunday, April 9. North America’s top forum for film producers, location managers, filmmakers and production resource companies, the Locations Trade Show brings AFCI members and the entertainment industry together to talk about global production opportunities.
Celebrating its 21st year, the AFCI Locations Trade Show is the longest-running entertainment industry trade event held in North America. In addition to the international line-up of film commissions, approximately 100 production resource companies will exhibit at the Show. More than 3,000 delegates are expected for Locations Trade Show 2006, making it once again the West Coast film production-networking event of the year.
Complementing the trade show are two Saturday educational seminars: “Film Incentives: An Independent View of what Governments are Giving,” held at 10:00 a.m. and led by producer and attorney Vince Ravine, and at 12:30 p.m., “Military Intelligence: Helping Hollywood Get it Right,” presenting how the military cooperates with the entertainment industry on projects of all sizes. Each seminar costs $25 with online registration available at www.afci.org. Registrants are automatically registered for Locations Trade Show 2006. The seminars are presented in cooperation with the Location Managers Guild of America and are held at the Doubletree Guest Suites, Santa Monica.
“All film, television, commercial, and new media production professionals should attend Locations Trade Show 2006, particularly producers, studio executives, directors, location managers and scouts,” says AFCI President Pat Swinney Kaufman.
“Film commissions continue to find innovative cost savings for visiting and local productions, and they come to the Show to share information about their latest incentives and financial support. Locations Trade Show 2006 is the most efficient way to find out everything there is to know about global production,” Kaufman adds.
Registration is free of charge for industry professionals and can be done on-site or on-line at www.afci.org. Show times are Friday, April 7 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm; Saturday, April 8 from Noon to 6:00 pm; and Sunday, April 9, Noon to 5:00 pm.
The AFCI is the official professional organization for film commissioners who assist film, television and video production throughout the world. It is a non-profit association whose members serve as city, county, state, regional, provincial, or national film commissioners for their respective governmental jurisdictions.
