After the Festival sold out in record time in 2001, 2002 and 2003 The 4th Annual Bondi Short Film Festival is on again at the Bondi Pavilion for what promises to be the biggest and best year so far. This year there will be two screenings on the one day (Saturday Nov 27th) Firstly a matinee screening of films will be presented at 4pm followed by an evening screening at 7pm.
The annual festival – to be held on November 27th @ The famous Bondi Pavilion – acts as an accessible springboard for next generation filmmakers and has become a showcase of the diverse talent this nation inspires. Over the last three years some of the most respected film industry representatives have judged the winning entries including ‘At the Movies’ host Margaret Pomeranz, actor Claudia Karvan and writer/actor Brendan Cowell.
Filmmakers are given approximately 13 minutes to show off their creative skills, but are not restricted to a common theme. “The Bondi Short Film festival is about presenting an eclectic mix of the finest short film Australia has to offer. This festival is a reflection of the state and future of Australian Filmmaking” (Festival Director Francis Coady)
15 films will be selected then staged against the backdrop of a Bondi sunset – who could think of a better way to lose yourself in the world of independent filmmaking? Prize categories include Best Film, Best Actor (Male/Female), Best Music Score, Best Design, Best Cinematography and Best script.
