November 8-11, 2006 the world of cinema will again focus on Milan Italy for the Sabaoth International Film Festival. The Sabaoth Festival is a biannual event which draws creative minds from around the globe to both celebrate creative excellence and award achievement in Christian visual media, film, and animation.
Productions from all five continents will be placed in competition for the world’s highest award in Christian cinema, the ADAM AWARDâ„¢. The 2006 Sabaoth International Film Festival will present four days of projection presenting finalist films to an anticipated audience of ten thousand as part of the Fourth Sabaoth Festival. Finalists in each film category will be projected free to the public at the Teatro delle Erbe during the five day of the festival.
Daily collaborative workshops are to be presented at both LePecore Pub and Teatro delle Erbe located in the historic Brera district of central Milan. Designed as interactive events, the workshops include sessions on global distribution, technology and art in cinema, collaborative production relationships. Workshop leaders scheduled include Academy Award™ nominated Danish designer Sven Wickmann, Warner Bros. Italia CFO Michele Emanuele, Cinema Veritàexecutive producer Deborah Brown, and acclaimed Dutch producer Otto de Bruijne.
This edition of the Film Festival includes the spectacular ADAM AWARDâ„¢ celebration hosted by Italian superstar Claudia Koll and comedian Sergio Mascheroni. The previous Sabaoth Festival was SRO, leading the change of venue for 2006 granting seating for awards night for over 6,000. Presentation of the ADAM AWARDâ„¢ is part of a three hour musical event with Christian artists from around the globe. The 2006 event will again include international film personalities and performers, studio executives, producers from all corners of the world, and film students seeking to make their mark in the global film marketplace.
Categories for film entries include both short subject and feature films, as well as animations and student productions. Entries must be submitted by June 16, 2006 to be eligible for the competition. ADAM AWARDâ„¢ winners will be announced November 11, 2006.
2006 brings a new category named the 40/40 challenge. This unique category allows even first-time producers the opportunity to receive global distribution of a film project. 40/40 challenge films are to be produced with a specified subject and utilize either a narrator or storyline which is independent from dialog. All finalist films will be given global distribution including translation and production in all distribution languages, as well as industry established royalties.
