In 2010, he directed his first documentary, Crown Royalty: The History of Charlotte Hip-Hop, which examined the musical landscape of North Carolina and received both regional and national critical attention. Beyond his work in film, King is a host of the “Cash, Color, and Cannabis” podcast and is finalizing a literary collection of short stories and essays titled Catastrophic Collapse of Time Management. His work consistently focuses on the intersection of music, social issues, and media strategy, utilizing his background in print journalism to inform his visual and digital content production.
