Hello. First off, I'd like to tell you that I am an aspiring director, though I fill other roles as well, and I am looking to film a short that I could use for most likely promotional reasons, though I would send to festival if possible. I need a short that I can refer to so I can show my ability. I will be using this to raise money for my continuing film education, and I will be showing this to lots of people. I actually don't have any idea what I want it to be like, but I know what I like. I am completely unable to come up with any idea that I don't think stinks, so I would like to work with someone who has a style I could interpret well. I would like to look for a comedy or a drama, though I can never resist infusing a little comedic relief into anything. Ok, thank you. I am a big fan of just about every movie Bill Murray has done. Mainly Stripes,Groundhog Day, and Larger than life. I though Zoolander was hilarious, but since I will probably be trying to use this as a promotional for me to raise money for my continuing film education, then this film should be kept around PG, so no one gets offended. I have a very active theatre in my area, with a very good childrens theatre. It would be easy to work with kids for this movie, especially since their schedule is sometimes easier. But that isn't a must, just a wish. I had some vague idea of doing something about the struggles of a fat guy trying to lose weight, but that was just an idea. going with you fat guy trying to lose weight scenario, he could be contrasted with someone who is trying to gain weight? just a thought.
Well, while some people are concious about their weight, they can generally joke about it. But anorexia is a psychological problem, which is a little too dark for the kind of humor I like. But if it was something like, you have a disease that can only be stopped by rapid weight gain, then possibly, though that would seem a little far-fetched.
