I'm an aspiring filmmaker from North East England. I've got nothing to my name so far, just a head full of ideas, a passion for film and a determination to make my own, even if it's just a hobby.
I've just graduated from university (got a BA in History with Film Studies, which did include a little practical work) and am looking to either make a film in my spare time, starting at some point over the next year, or go on to do an MA that could include a practical aspect of making a film.
So at the moment I have no idea exactly when I'd be making a film, or what that film would be, but I'd like to hear from anyone who would be interested in helping. The budget is likely to be nonexistant so I'd have to ask for volunteers, which would probably limit the scale of the film, and also limit it to people who live locally (unless of course there are some out there so enthusiastic about whatever project I end up doing that you're willing to travel further, or even throw money at me). Oh, and I'm not sure where 'locally' would be either, where I end up next year is yet to be determined.
Of course I'd be eternally grateful to anyone who helped me in any way at all - the end result would be near-professionally produced on DVD (complete with special features, audio commentaries etc) and everyone would get a copy, and be mentioned in the credits, so at the very least you'd have a bit of experience and a film with your name to it that you can show around. I'd also try to flog it to any production company or film festival possible to try to get us all a bit of attention - and hey, even if it's rubbish, it's a chance to get together, make some friends, have a laugh and waste some spare time.
Would be happy to hear from anyone that would be interested in helping (or vice versa, let me know if you could do with my help) or anyone just after a general film chat. Here's my e-mail (and MSN):
