Seeking Producer for feature dramatic Horror film (Los Angeles)
New production company with a talented writer/director on board seeks experienced producer and/or executive producer/production company to partner up with for feature length dramatic horror film. The film is a character driven, dark, family tragedy in the vein of classics like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Deliverance, The Shining, Halloween, as well as more recent films such as The Strangers. It's more of a somber, dark drama than straight out horror. There are killings, of course, and blood, but it's there to serve the story, not just for the sake of it. The film has elements of drama, psychological, mystery, suspense, thriller, and horror.
What we really need is a "true" producer. Someone who is willing to work hard and do whatever it takes to help us get this film made. We need someone with a track record and verifiable credits. You must be a business savvy individual, skilled in the business side of filmmaking. Experience in film financing/fundraising is imperative. We don't expect you to be an entertainment attorney (we have one), but you should be comfortable with reading, preparing, and/or handling business documents as they pertain to the film.
We are very serious about making this film and want to bring in a team player, or players, who share our passion. Payment will me made based off of percentage of film's total budget, as well as other incentives, such as points in the film, etc that we will discuss. Business plan and investment memorandum are currently being completed with our attorney. We hope to bring the selected producer on board to assist in the finalization of all paperwork before going out to potential investors. Screenplay is set, as well as a number of storyboards completed. We also shot a promotional teaser for the film that will be used in helping to secure funding. We will send a link to our website to view the teaser and other information to those we are interested in.
