Dear Board,

I know you get a lot of posts looking for scripts, but please stay with me...

I am a professional theatre director based in the UK who has moved into film and I am after screenwriters of both shorts and features with the following themes:

  • Drama
  • Supernatural Drama
  • American Comedy
  • British Comedy
  • Thriller (maybe depending on how many effects are needed)
  • Horror (maybe depending on how many effects are needed)

I would prefer it if the scripts do not contain many SFX as this will make things very costly. This may be a low budget gig, but with my line of work I have many contacts in the acting world that are willing to donate their time for this picture.

There is no author age restriction as a 'good script is a good script' and if I decide to use your work, payment will be incorporated into the production budget.

If you are interested please post your log lines below and/or email me details via this site. I can accept scripts in many formats - but prefer Final Draft format if at all possible.

Finally, if you require a specific payment amount please email me the details of this so I have this in mind when reading your work.

Thank you for your time,

??Goofy Horace??

Hi

Thanks for the chance to pitch.

I have 3 feature screenplays available

The Amulet

Derek Adams is a PI with plenty of time on his hands. Until the Bogart Case walks in. A priceless family heirloom has been stolen and everyone in town is looking for it. It was supposed to be an easy case, fast money. But pretty soon Derek is up to his armpits in bodies, femme fatales and tentacles. The city's dark side has him.
And it doesn't want to let go!

"The Amulet", is 96 page B-movie noir-meets-monster tale revolving around a Bogart buff and the MacGuffin of an ancient amulet of power that has ganglords in a frenzy trying to locate it to bring back the elder gods. The script is based on my novel "The Midnight Eye Files: The Amulet", which was published in September 2005 by Black Death Books in the USA.

Sirens

At first it's a simple lost son case, but for PI Derek Adams things turn quickly to the twilight zone. Soon he's on a remote island and up to his hips in mer-women, shape changers and ancient fisher cults.
Running back to the city doesn't help; there's mayhem on the streets.
An ancient god is waking up, and only blood will stop him.

"Sirens" is 97 pages, a B-movie monster tale revolving around a Bogart buff and the MacGuffin of the curse of a race of mer-women. The script is based on my novel "The Midnight Eye Files: Sirens", which will be published in 2007 by Black Death Books in the USA.

Island Life

An isolated island is no place to be alone when mutant beasts roam in the fog. A scientist and two lighthouse keepers do battle against a tribe of mutated creatures on their isolated island. But everyone else they know is either dead or missing, and when night comes, and the fog rolls in, the fun begins in earnest.

"Island Life" is 90 pages, a monster movie in the vein of ?Dog Soldiers? and "Descent". The script is based on my novel, Island Life, published in the USA in 2001 by Barclay Books.

_________________________________________________________________

All scripts are complete and available in Final Draft, pdf, Word or txt formats. Treatments of all 3 are also available.

I also have half a dozen shorts available, all in the 5 - 10 minute range

The Wrong Room
Brian Kelly is a businessman on the skids. He needs control.... and a visit to a sex shop seems to provide just what he's looking for.

Can You Hear Them?
A man left alone on a remote lighthouse begins to hear noises from his past... and soon wet footsteps are heard slapping on the rocks outside.

Crossroads
A failed guitar player makes a pact to enable him to give vent to his emotions.

At the Beach
An encounter on a beach as an old man ruminates on the nature of love and loss to a youth who is only looking for some peace and quiet

Animal Vegetable Mineral
4 boys, an experiment in calling up the ?other side? and a deserted house. What could go wrong?

The Last Day of Summer
Children should be careful what they wish for? they might get it.

If anything takes your fancy, drop me a line at the email address below.

I am a Scottish author, with five novels published in the States and three more coming in 2006/7, all in the independent horror press. (Most of my novels are available for option, along with over 150 short stories.)

My work has appeared in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Greece, Saudi Arabia and India, and my first screenplay sale, a ten minute ghost story, is currently in production with Capital Media Arts in New York.

I have also got several works currently on option. (Two shorts, and a supernatural thriller feature)

I have a spec thriller with very few SFX. It is titled "The Dark One" below is a short log line and synopsis.

Detective Harris has been catching killers for twenty years, catching this one might be the last thing he ever does.

When a secret government lab opens the door to a new dimension they accidentally let a creature escape into this diemnaion. the bloodthirsty creature migrates to a nearby city and starts a killing rampage. Detectiuve Harris is on the scene for the forst of a string of murders, to him its just another day on the job. When the creature kills his surogate daughter it becomes personal and Harris is determined to find the killer and bring him to justice. He stumbles onto the government cover up and now the officials at the lab want him silenced. Harris has to find the secret lab, close the dimensional door and stop the creature while he avoids the mercenary hired to kill him.

I also have a spec comedy titled "Hooga Man".

when a goofy scientist accidentally warps time he ends up with a caveman for a house geust.

a scientist accidentally warps time and a caveman is zapped into his house. Trying to get the caveman to adapt while the scientist tries to find a way to send him home is hard enough, but a couple of moronic INS agents have heard about the Hooga Man and they want to catch him and deport him.

thank you for your time
e-mail me if you'd like to see either screenplay,

Title: pop. 1
Log line: The Omega Man meets Dawn Of The Dead.
?The Meek Shall NOT Inherit The Earth!?
82 pages.
WGA No.: 1123247

What would you do if a world wide plague turned every man, woman, and child, EXCEPT FOR YOU, into mindless, cannibalistic zombies?
What would you do if you were completely immune to the plague, and had to stand helplessly by and watch civilization crumble and disappear around you in a matter of days?
What would you do if you found a place of hope in this lonely wasteland, only to discover that there are some things more horrible than the living dead?

This is the terrifying, hopeless world Luke James must live in. Through my screenplay titled, ?pop. 1?, you will experience the journey of Luke James, who may be the last man alive in a world of the living dead.

As Luke James wanders from city to city looking for other survivors, we see a dead world that offers him no hope. When he finds a maximum security prison that is populated by the last holdouts of mankind, he believes he has found an oasis of life. But this is no sanctuary. The prisons occupants are dominated by a power crazy warden and his fanatical guards who worship him as their Saviour, and they will stop at nothing to get what they want.

Think 2004's Dawn Of The Dead. Cost= $28 mil., Ticket Sales= $58 mil., and that doesn't include DVD sales, pay per view, overseas sales, or premium cable.

The completed screenplay is available upon request. Thank you for your generous time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Cordially:

William J. Jenkins

Hi

I have a comedy script which I am just looking for an agent to represent.

A short synopsis is that it is very loosely based on a pub ran by three friends (location could be anywhere) and each episode (only one episode so far put together but enough material mounted for many more) would start at that pub but then the viewers would be made to follow a series of random events leading from that point.

For example; the bar staff may talk about one of their customers which cue?s a flashback sketch, then when that finishes the camera might follow the character leaving the bar walking into another scenario or passing by something else happening which leads to another sketch and so on and on. Each episode would conclude with the series of witty and zany random events leading back to where the episode started, at the pub with the three friends. Each episode would have at least one consistant story reoccuring throughout it.

If you are interested then please let me know, you can email me at eshopmates?hotmail.co.uk and I will forward it on

Best regards

Scott

Hi,

I have a couple of full length comedy sceenplays I could show you. I have never written a proper synopsis for the first so I'll just describe it briefly

'Not Ugly Male' is a romantic comedy based on an archeology graduate who can only get a job on a building site, much to the disdain of his upwardly-mobile girlfriend. As the project goes pear-shaped and the builders' jobs are already on the line, he discovers what could be an important Roman site in a hole in the ground. His girlfriend is pressing him to go into mobile phone sales, his flatmates' advice is neither useful, nor necessarily unbiased and when he finally gets dumped he looks to lonely hearts for true love while he wrestles with his conscience over declaring the site to the authorities and shutting down the building project, losing everyone their jobs.

The humour is both verbal and visual based on many true incidents from the building trade.

Here follows a synopsis of 'Chicken Karma'

Chicken Karma ? Synopsis. A black comedy about gangsters, reincarnation, redemption and battery chickens.

There?s one theory of reincarnation suggesting that the battery farming of millions of chickens has upset the natural order of death and rebirth and consequently thousands of babies are being born with angry, frightened, unfulfilled chicken souls. A ridiculous notion?unless you should ever walk through an inner-city, sink estate.

Val, the recently widowed, though not grieving wife of Tony, a murdered gangster, and herself no angel, starts acting like a chicken in times of stress, as when on remand for running a brothel. Various incidences and intermittent visions of her dead husband, slowly transforming back into a beckoning and bloodied chicken, send her to the prison psychiatrist. Medically speaking, he suggests, her anger, aggression and fear are all too normal nowadays. Then, as a Hindu, he explains the theory of chicken souls, an idea she rejects until faced with the more alarming theory of the ?once borns?, people of so little worth that they never come round again.

When Val is released on bail, she must seek redemption before a potentially serious operation in a few weeks? time puts the chicken soul theory to the test. Only she misguidedly opts for revenge instead, on the chickens that ?did her in?. Using Kosmic Kevin, an ineffectual, stage hypnotist, to reluctantly regress her, she identifies the chicken farm from her former life. Unbeknown to her, Kevin also suggests that she is not really the loud-mouthed, aggressive bossy women she appears, but nicer and kinder, as she was when they were all kids. This newly awoken Val is as confused as everyone by this change in her personality.

With the help of Spoiler, her old friend, vegetarian and Tony?s sidekick, she wreaks havoc at the chicken farm with an automatic pistol, but realises at last that revenge is not the answer. After this false start on the road to redemption she must discover what it is she has to learn this time around while juggling her other problems.

Her son, Danny, is taking after his late father and wants to step into his vacant shoes. He starts a violent, one-man crusade against Val?s wishes to find out who shot Tony, making many enemies in the process. Bev, a frighteningly psychopathic, former rival for Tony?s affections, muscled out by Spoiler many years ago, is coming home from California for her mother?s funeral. Spoiler tries to help while guarding a terrible secret. Then Val?s expensive car is trashed in her driveway and the brothel is attacked along with Shirl, a mature, working woman and Kosmic Kevin.

Tony, both alive and dead, has had an effect on everyone?s lives and they all have to redeem themselves in their own ways. Far from her former, psychopathic personality, Bev has rediscovered herself through new-age therapies and body-building and now in her element, tries to help them with a memorial service for Tony. Then Danny is severely beaten by the enemies he has made, Spoiler admits that he put up the money for the hit on Tony and Bev has to go home and leave Val to sort out her problems alone.

Val, worn out and on the operating table, hovering between life and death, has to decide to give in to another round with Tony as a battery chicken or find her salvation by fighting for the soul of her badly beaten son.

I'd be happy to show either of them to you if you are still looking for screenplays.

I'm not sure if you'll be interested in my script because it's a little farfetched but I'd like to think it is well-written and enjoyable. It is written to be made with friends though so it has some action added for fun. Everyone I've sent it to likes it.
