hey,
new post = new problem
i started filming with my Handycam and realized it had a feature where i could film in 16:9. it doesnt just place those black bars there it actually expands the width of the shot a little bit. So it looks more professional and generally better. But the problem is that when i plugged my camera into the tv to watch what i had filmed it wasnt in 16:9 on teh tv. it look like it was stretched up and down. now is this because the tv automatically adjusts it or is that just hoiw it will export? in other words will i need to re shoot the scenes in regular (non wide screen) or when i put it in editing soft ware can i keep the 16:9 image?
thanks

That's how it's recorded on tape: you'll need to either use a 16:9 TV, or letterbox it in an editing program.
It's worth nothing that if your camera doesn't have a real 16:9 CCD then it will digitally stretch the image, so if you then letterbox it the quality will actually be lower than shooting 4:3 and sticking bars on the top and bottom of the frame.
ok so should i shoo tthose two scenes again or can i just fix it to look normal 4:3 in post?

Yeah, I would.
