Greetings.
How does oneget the static, or white noise to put in a video?? My camera and my newest tv turn white noise into blue solid color on screen. My older TV that?s about 15 years old turns static black.
I have a video project I?m doing and a part of it calls for white noise... who woulda thought something so simple was so difficult...
sony vegas has that effect. it really flexible, you can mess around with the effect.
Is that an editing program?
Yes.
I have one file of a few seconds of static that I re-use whenever I need it: I had to use my old analogue video capture card to get it because I couldn't find any other way to record it.
Gah, I don't have analog. Or that program. I'll look for a demo but I surely hope there is another way that I stumble upon.
A lot of times you can find an old 70's era television for free in the paper or at a site like craigslist. If not I'll bet you can get one at a yard sale for next to nothing. Pick one up, plug it in, tune it to nothing, and start recording noise.
if you have a vcr, you can get a blank video tape and just press play and record that. Of course you'd have to get it from your tv to your computer but there are ways to do that.
I couldn't figure out how to get the camera to record from the VCR while using the RCA jacks- perhaps its one way only. So I just turned on a video game called "Mercenaries" where the opening graphics have some bursts of static. Then I just recorded the TV. It gave the static a surreal glow which was perfect.
