I want to get better sound with my boom mic for a DV movie I am making , Ive heard you can use those player/recorder mini disk cassette players for like $80 bucks or something. Has anyone had expirience with this? is it worth buying one? If so any suggestions on a good one?

I started out doing this on my feature-length film, but it ended up being more trouble than it's worth. The sound quality is fine (about the same as if you plugged the mic into the camera), and it's a real headache to keep track of all the audio files and sync them up with your video.

My advice? Get a nice long XLR cable and plug your mic into your camera.
