I could be wrong, but I got the impression tv format in the UK is different. In the US there is no difference.

No but everytime I've seen a british tv show written up anywhere it's been in more of a transcript format. There shows are not as readily available though so they might actually be transcripts which is why I put the qualifier.
I have a book of Black Adder screenplays and another with Red Dwarf screenplays and they are both in a trancript style format rather than the movie standard.
