Alright, I'm thinking of getting a Canon XL1. The problem is, the package I'm buying doesn't come with a tripod. I can see this being a horrible circumstance to shoot under. I have this older tripod I used for a small camcorder, where kind of a screw interlocks with a whole at the bottom of the camcorder. Think this would also lock into the Canon XL1?
If you have any cheap tripod suggestions or know of ways with shooting movies without tripods (my first short will be only me), please share.
thanks again for the help you guys!
Tripod fittings are pretty standard.
If you're just going to have a stationary camera then any crappy old tripod should do the job provided it's strong enough to hold the camera. If you want a lot of panning and tilting then you'll need a decent one.
