fellow film makers, i have found it, a super cheap website for military gear, a lot of it used (but we're probably gonna blow holes in it anyway). i searched for about 1 week, about 30 websites and this is the best uk one, but it also ships to US.

-helmets are ?15 with cover, use it to make plaster replicas and the helmet covers are only ?3.00
-soldier 95 combat trousers are ?6.00
-combat jacket is ?5.00
-british army assault boots ?10.00
-cam cream is ?2.00
the rest of the website is as good as this.
the only thing which is quite pricey (like everywere else) is comabt webbing and assault vests, simply because there arnt that many 2nd hand ones floating around. basic comabat vests/webbing start at ?25/30 (modern ones, not the old WW2 issue 95 webbing)
if anyone knows of websites cheaper than this post em up, (particularly a website selling webbing and assault vests 2nd hand)
also, for replica guns. search round shops that sell bb guns and ask if they have any broken ones you can buy on the cheap (?10 ish). once you have as many as you need, spray them black, then spray cartain parts dark army green (ususaly part that you touch alot, ie pistol grip, butt shoulder rest, forgrip, look at the design of the british SA80). then finaly get a small flat paintbrush (about size of thumbnail) with a silver/metalic looking paint and with not much paint on brush, lightly brush over corners and bumps on gun. this gives the effect that over time the paint has rubbed away to reveal the metal body of gun. this really does make it look real.
