I was wondering if anyone here has actually started and still runs a successful independant production company. I'm moving to California in three months and I think my chances of starting up and staying running will be more successful out there (more resources) and I was hoping to hear stories of how people went about doing it.
I need to look into the legal stuff, obviously, and I need to accumulate some more equipment, but I wasn't expecting to pull this together overnight.
Stories, advice, tips, whatever would be greatly appreciated!

Bruce Campbell - "So you want to get into show biz?"
Me - "Yeah, I'd really like to direct movies."
Bruce Campbell - "Cool. Just don't suck."

So apparently no one here has started a production company?
Good. Less competition for me.
