Hi
We need to know how we can appear to have spray paint on a car (preferably the windscreen, but the bonnet would be acceptable) without actually damaging the car. It's my dad's car we are using, you see, and it's quite expensive.
We were thinking of using a sheet of plastic or something. Any ideas?

Theres a company near me in the uk Birmingham called tha car spar that produce a special material for car bonnets that go over them to create a differnt material effect. If you get in contact with them they might be able to help you how ever Im not sure if they produce either green or blue but you wont know until you phone and find out lol.

you can use a few layers of latex on the car before you spray which should peel off like dried PVA glue after, it's what i've used to protect walls from heavy paint work before, that or have a look at what soluble paints/dirty down you could use (but still do a test patch first)
A quick search turned up a few professional washable spraypaint products, but here is a recipe for a homemade version: http://www.examiner.com/arts-crafts-in-portland/homemade-washable-spray-paint-for-kids
As with any kind of special effect, it is important to TEST it first on something that will not be in your movie. Once you KNOW that it will work as you desire, THEN commit to shooting the shot with the hero car.
Good luck!
