RIGHT NOW I'M IN PRE-PRODUCTION OF MY SHORT. FOR ECONOMIC REASONS I DECIDED TO RECORD THE SOUND INTO MY LAPTOP(GOOD FOR THE JOB).
BUT MY COUSIN TELLS ME THAT IT'S EASIER TO USE THE AUDIO RECORDED BY MY VIDEO CAMERA AND THEN CLEAN AND MAKE IT BETTER IN POST. HE TELLS ME THAT HE CAN DO THAT FOR ME.

WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHAT SOUNDS LIKE THE EASIER AND BETTER DECISION? CAN YOU REALLY MAKE AUDIO BETTER IN POST?

PLEASE HELP ME!

no, not really...

if you have a good camera that has XLR inputs, you can hook up a good shotgun microphone straight into the camera, which is better than a laptop in someways since laptops crash, etc.

but the sound you have, is usually the sound you have, unless you have a LOT of money... so try and get it right the first time.

THE PROBLEM IS MY CAMERA DOESN'T HAVE A MIC INPUT. THAT'S WHY I'M PLANNING ON USING MY LAP TOP.

THANX ANYWAYS.

SOMEONE ELSE?

go with the laptop, man. If you're using a PC then use SOund Recorder and configure the sound to record at the best khz.

I did a commercial like that, worked fine.
