As a newbie yet to film, I am wondering if there are acceptable alternatives to costly sound blankets for those of us on a budget. I see the sound blankets sell for around $50. I am wondering what makes them so special, as compared to just ordinary blankets. Would ordinary blankets work as a substitute, has anybody tried that? I read that Corning fiberglass sheets can substitute but of course do not fold up like blankets and have the messy fibers. I would like to find a cheap portable alternative to costly sound blankets if possible. Thank you in advance for any advice.
