I have a Sony TRV900E, it was accidentally dropped and luckily the insurance company have agreed to replace it.
The only problem is that they offered the Sony HC1000
I personally didn't think that it was up to par.
Can anyone think of suitable equivalents?
I don't think it has to be a Sony.
The two i thought of were;
Sony DSR PDX10
Sony HDR-HC1E
Opinions???

The HC1 is probably the equivalent to the TRV900 in terms of 'bang for the buck' today. However, I guess the insurers may consider it to be a substantial step up, given it's high definition.

I've written the insurance company a nice little letter comparing the specs of my TRV900 with a few other models.
PDX10, VX2100, PDR700 & FX1.
So we'll see what they say next.
